《装饰》（英文名：ZHUANGSHI）创刊于1958年9月，是中国设计学领域具有广泛影响力的学术期刊。《装饰》由清华大学主办、清华大学美术学院承办，并在国内外公开发行。

《装饰》秉持“立足当代、关注本土”的办刊宗旨，持续关注中国本土设计实践与理论建构，及时回应时代发展与学科前沿议题。长期以来，《装饰》不仅是研究中国现代设计不可或缺的重要文献平台，也是推动本土设计理论建设的重要学术阵地。

目前，《装饰》设有《特别策划》《纸上展览》《第一线》《海外动向》《学人问津》《设计实践》《个案点击》《教学档案》《民俗民艺》《史论空间》等常设栏目。其中，《特别策划》栏目自2007年第4期设立以来，持续聚焦设计领域的前沿议题和热点问题，推动跨学科、深层次的学术交流与思想争鸣。

除学术内容建设外，《装饰》自创刊以来即高度重视刊物的视觉形象与装帧设计。多位设计大师直接参与期刊的封面与版式设计，自20世纪90年代中期起，《装饰》开始邀请设计师参与从封面到内文的整体装帧设计，2000年之后，刊物按年度邀请知名设计师进行整体设计，使《装饰》也成为中国期刊设计实践的重要案例。

在纸刊出版之外，《装饰》依托自身学术影响力，积极搭建高水平学术交流平台，整合国内外学术、行业与教育资源，组织开展多种形式的学术活动。2000年以来，《装饰》每年独立或联合相关院校与机构举办了全国性学术论坛，围绕“设计伦理”“地域性与当代性”“绿色之辨”“主动设计”“工艺美术·再生产”“（中国）西部设计”“工匠精神”等重要议题展开深入讨论。自2018年起，《装饰》每年举办学术年会，并以“设计研究新范式”为核心主题，倡导设计研究方法与理论视野的更新，已形成一批有影响力的成果。

Founded in September 1958, ZHUANGSHI (Art & Design) is a highly influential academic journal in the field of design in China. Sponsored by Tsinghua University and organized by the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, it is published and distributed both domestically and internationally.

Adhering to the editorial philosophy of "grounded in the contemporary, focusing on the local," ZHUANGSHI consistently examines China's local design practices and theory-building, staying abreast of contemporary developments and emerging issues at the disciplinary frontier. For decades, ZHUANGSHI has served both as an indispensable scholarly resource for the study of modern and contemporary Chinese design and as a crucial academic forum for advancing local design theory.

Currently, the journal features ten regular columns, including Special Feature, Exhibition on Paper, Front Line, International Scholars, Scholar's Inquiry, Design Practice, Case Study, Teaching Archives, Folk Art and Culture, and History of Art Design. Among these, the Special Feature column, launched in 2007 (issue 4), has consistently focused on frontier topics and pressing issues in design, fostering interdisciplinary, in-depth academic exchange and intellectual debate.

Beyond its academic content, ZHUANGSHI has placed a strong emphasis on its visual identity and publication design since its inception. Numerous master designers have directly contributed to its cover and page layout. Since the mid-1990s, the journal has commissioned designers to manage its comprehensive publication design, from cover to interior pages. Since 2000, ZHUANGSHI has engaged renowned designers on an annual basis to oversee its overall visual direction, making the journal itself a significant case study in Chinese publication design practice.

In addition to print publication, the journal, drawing on its academic influence, has built a premier platform for scholarly exchange. By integrating domestic and international resources across academia, industry, and education, the journal has organized diverse academic activities. For over two decades, ZHUANGSHI has independently or collaboratively hosted national academic forums annually, facilitating in-depth discussions on critical issues such as "Design Ethics," "Regionality and Contemporaneity," "Clarify the Green Design," "Design Activism," "Reproduction: Arts and Crafts," "Design in Western China," and the "Craftsmanship Spirit." Since 2018, the journal has launched an annual academic conference centered on the overarching theme of "New Paradigms in Design Research." By advocating for the renewal of research methods and theoretical perspectives, the journal has produced a substantial body of scholarly outcomes.
